What should I bring to a session?

Water. Voice recorder/iphone/tablet device. Any specific music/accompaniment  are working on if required. (optional Pen and paper if you learn better through annotating)

Ensure you wear comfortable clothing…nothing you can’t breath comfortably in!

Do I need to prepare anything for the lesson?

No. Unless you have a specific piece you are working on, then please bring the accompaniment if you have this, or I have given you notes, lyric sheets to annotate.

How long does a session last?

Depending on your booking lessons range from 30mins-2hrs. Please confirm upon booking how long you would like to book.

Where do the lessons take place?

My business premises is located at The Yard- 11 Bent Street, M8 8NF

How do I get to you and is there parking?

The Yard - 11 Bent Street, M8 8NF has free on street parking. The closest train /tram station is Victoria station. From here it is a 12 minute walk to the studio.  Bus stop = ‘Derby Street’ which is a 2min walk away.

How do I pay for the sessions?

Session payment is required prior or on the day of the session via Bank Transfer (full details are given in the4 confirmation email) Invoices available upon request

Do you do block session bookings?

Yes: Block of 5 sessions = 5% discount. Block of 10 sessions = 10% discount

What do I do if I need to cancel my booking?

All cancellations must be made 48hours in advance of the lesson time to avoid full charge. Any cancellations made after this time require full payment.

In extreme circumstances and illness if cancellation is required less than 48hours, I will do my best to re-schedule the session for the week to avoid any fees.

Can I bring someone to the lesson?

I often find clients work differently when someone else is in the room. They feel the need to ‘impress’ or perform and it often takes longer for them to relax and experiment vocally, therefore for that reason, I prefer to work on a 1-2-1 basis with the client.

However, if you require another person to be present for medical, health or any other person reason this is absolutely fine

Is there disabled access?

Yes. With enough notice I am more than happy to hire out a downstairs studio in the Yard for any client with access needs …not a problem!

Do you teach under 16’s?

No. Due to the anatomical nature of the voice work and the level of understanding required, I do not teach children. Exceptions are made when the student is in professional Theatre/Touring work and requires vocal maintenance and care.

Do you teach from the clients location?

Generally no, however if a client requires me for a Studio Recording session, wherever possible I will try to accommodate for this. Travel and expenses are reflected in the fees.
